SIFAT…. We made it!!!!
No seriously. some of you may have already heard about adventurous journey up to alabama for those of you haven’t let me fill you in. we started our trip like any other mission trip. We loaded the bus at 6 am. We were making great time until about Lake City when we stopped for gas. While filling up we noticed the tires were a little bit low on air so we got them refilled. About 4 miles down the road one of our newly filled tires decided to not work anymore and exploded. Luckily it was the inside of the 2 tires on the back right so we still had a tire that we were able to drive on, albeit very slowly. With a little bit of help from Florida Highway Patrol and our smartphones, we located tire shop about 6 miles down the road. We slowly crept along until we got to Murray Tire. There a nice gentleman named Joey changed all 4 of our back tires and sent us on our way. We were about 2 hours behind schedule but everything was good right ? Wrong. About 2 more hours down the road are transmission decided to act up on us. You know the whole thing were you push the pedal all the way to the floor in you can’t go over 50? Yeah that happened. Home Again after an Awesome Week
Some happy to be home. Some not. Some not really sure if it’s ok to be happy to be home? We assure you, “there’s no place like home.
It was an epic, awesome, amazing, stellar, special, fun, growing, outrageous, scary-at-times, took-me-out-of-my-comfort-zone but still rockin’ and breath-taking week! Thank you God.”
Aloma bowl
Yay!!! We are here. Some wild and crazy techniques but lots of fun nonetheless. There’s nothing better than strikes, fried food and stinky feet.
Our last day Serving at South Street, Community guest speakers, communion and open gym. Next is our mystery event.
We passed out flyers about our feeding program at South Street to get the community to come for free breakfast and lunch. It is provided by OCPS for all K thru 12 th graders. After serving breakfast at our south Street campus, we heard from our own Charlotte and Dave Nielsen and Morgan Slavens about why they serve and what it means to them. They were so inspirational and brought more perspectives for us to consider.
Then we had free time to play ultimate frisbee, volleyball and cards. Lunch was delivered by Jason’s and we picnicked on the “lawn”.
Jayne joined us with Amazing Austin Coye And Marvelous Matt Eagle for worship and communion. Matt and Austin sounded beautiful. Thanks to both of you. We all served one another communion and was a wonderful way to tie in our service and communion thanks, Jayne!
More carwash and bus photos
City buses were a time for cooling off and observing the character of the people of Orlando. Many incredible stories to tell. Just ask us!
Day 2- IHN carwash/Covenant House landscaping and painting
We arrived at the Walgreens parking lot. We waited for a little while while David spoke to a manager. Eventually we started our wash. Business was booming until about 30 minutes. Most of us got wet , others got “humiliated”. Oh well, we still had fun.
The sign makers and sign holders worked the busy corner. The were awesome.
First day cleanup at South Street
On the first day we split up into groups A B C group A helped carry trash from the Chorus room to the dumpster group B helped with making lunch for the group and group C helped cleaning out the office some kids went to the park and told people about free lunch at south street. P.S Maggie Frantz is awesome

First Lynx city bus ride
While waiting for the bus we passed time by telling humorous jokes. Then we saw it. Teal. With a giant Mr. Poppers Penguins poster on it. This box on wheels was our ticket to serving. Anxious, excited and somewhat nervous, we slipped our five dollar bills into the machine and received our bus passes. We stepped into the cool air conditioned chamber and hesitantly took our seats. We were ready to go.
IHN and Covenant House

Such a great group. After a long day of serving at IHN and covenant house, painting, car washing, etc, they still take time to meet in small groups.
